AMES DAILY TRIBUNE, Ames, Iowa, August 25 1954.
"Addie E. Kirk, daughter of James and Elizabeth Kirk, was born in Story county July 1, 1879, and died at the Story County hospital in Nevada Aug. 19, at the age of 75 years, one month and 19 days.She grew to womanhood and lied all of her life in this county, and was united in marriage to Harley Z. Elliott on Feb. 22, 1905. They had lived since 1914 northeast of Cambridge.
She became a member of the Methodist church early in life. She was active in church work.
Because of ill health, she was confined to her home since Dec. 19, 1953.
She was one of a family or 12 children; six brothers and three sisters, besides two half-sisters and a half brother.
She is survived by her husband, Harley Elliott of Cambridge, also three brothers and one sister. They are Charles W. Kirk, Orland, Calif.; J. B. Kirk, Maxwell, Iowa; Carl Kirk, Los Angeles, and Mrs. Lu Hendrickson, Inglewood, Calif.
Funeral services were held in the Cambridge Methoodist church, conducted by W. Fay Ford, the pastor, and the former pastor, John F. Rex.
Earl Gardner, Kermit Griffith, Mrs. Guy De Hoet an Mrs. Leland Gardner sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "Good Night Here and Good Morning Up There."
Mrs. Earl McHone sang " Lord, I Am Coming Home," accompanied on the piano by Mrs. W. Fay Ford.
Casket bearers were Marion Breckenridge, Anderson Coggshall, Harry Inlay, Audrey Reynolds, Joe Sinkler and Wesley Shill.
Mrs. Anderson Coggshall and Mrs. Wesley Shill cared for the flowers.
Burial was in Evergreen cemetery at Collins."
