Mrs. William Fonda Commits Suicide Mon.
Mrs. William Fonda, 40, residing on the Ontario road northwest of Ames, committed suicide Monday afternoon at 4:30 p. m. by swallowing poison. Neighbors, upon learning of the act, secured a physician who rushed Mrs. Fonda to the Mary Greeley hospital, where she died shortly after 6 p. m.
Mrs. Fonda had been in ill health for a long time and neighbors and friends expressed the belief that she took her life while in a despondent mood over her health.
She was born in Ames about 40 years ago and had lived here all her life. She is survived by her husband, William Fonda, and three children by a former marriage, Thurson, 20; Marvin, 16, and Harold Jensen, 14. Also surviving are four brothers, Harry, Clifford, Gus and C. O. Anderson, all of Ames; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Anderson, Ft. Dodge, and Mrs. Tillie Palmer, Grundy Center, and her mother, Mrs. John Anderson, Ames.
Funeral services had not been completed Tuesday, pending arrival of the two sisters from out of town.

Mrs. Fonda Rites To Be Held Thur.
Funeral services for Mrs. William Fonda, 40, of near Ontario, who died Tuesday night at the Mary Greeley hospital, will be held at 1 p. m. Thursday from the Duckworth Funeral home, with the Rev. Amos W. Stolen, pastor of the Lutheran church, in charge. Burial will be in the Ames cemetery.
