THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, December 9, 2008.

Lillian Mary (Hanna) Johnson, 88, formerly of Ames, died suddenly Friday, Dec. 5, at home in Olathe, Kan. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, at St. Cecilia Church in Ames, with luncheon following. Burial will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery.

Lillian played bridge weekly, made many quilts and was active in her church.

Left to cherish her memory are four children, Dennis, of Poulsbo, Wash., Nancy Brown, of Cedar Rapids, Ronald, of Lanett, Ala., and Mary Goodman, of Overland Park, Kan.; two brothers, Bob, of Humboldt, and Ken, of Fort Dodge; one sister, Harriett Bothne, of Humboldt; one stepsister, Diane Essing, of Kissimmee, Fla.; stepmother, Mildred Hanna, of Fort Dodge; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Art; one brother, Wilfred (Chub); and one sister, Bernardine Scott.

Memorials may be given to Conventual Franciscan Friars, 103 St. Francis Blvd, Mount St. Francis, IN, 47146, or to Iowa State University Foundation.
