THE NEVADA JOURNAL, Nevada, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, November 13, 2008.

Former longtime Maxwell businessman, Stephen Moore Cooper, 89, passed away in Sarasota, Fla., on Oct. 28.

He was one of the several generations of "Coopers" who owned and operated the Cooper Furniture Store and Funeral Home from the late 1800s to late 1900s (over 100 years).

Survivors are a son, Stephen Eric, in Minnesota and a daughter, Susan, in Florida and two grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Harriett, and his parents, Forest and Martha Cooper.

Memorial services were held in Sarasota, Florida.
