Robert Jones, 83, of Kelley, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. No services are planned.

Robert Jones was born April 21, 1925, in Scranton, Pa., to Harold and Edith (Freeman) Jones. He was an aerospace engineer at Kaman Aircraft, and served in the U.S. Navy.

He moved to Kelley five months ago from Canton, Conn.

He is survived by three sons, Doug (Joan), of Kelley, Greg, of Rochester, N.Y., and Randall, of Plymouth, Conn.; one stepdaughter, Anneliese Smith; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty; his second wife, Judy; one brother, Harold; and one daughter-in-law, Cathy Jean Schaffrick Jones.

Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association.

Adams Funeral Home and Cremation Service is assisting the family.
