MRS MINNIE ROSS IS DEAD AT SLATER
SLATER — Mrs. Minnie Ross, 70, was found dead in bed Sunday morning by her grandchildren, Kathryn and Sackett Ross, at the home of her son, Edward Ross, with whom she had made her home the past five years.
The children tried to awaken their grandmother and when they could not, a doctor was called. She had died during the night.
Death was unexpected since she had been in good health and was apparently feeling well when she retired Saturday night. Her son and Mrs. Ross had left Saturday afternoon to take a daughter to her home in Hanlontown. They had stopped overnight at Mason City, and learned of the death there by shortwave radio.
Mrs. Ross had lived at Clemons all her life until she came to Slater to live with her son. Three children survive, the son here, Mrs. Francis Meservy of Hanlontown and Mrs. Mildred Hughes of
Clemons.Funeral services will be conducted at Marshalliown Thursday afternoon and burial will be at Clemons.
