WILLIAM MERKEL OF STORY CITY DEAD

STORY CITY - William Merkel, 63, life long resident of Story City, died at the University hospital, Iowa City, Saturday. Death resulted from a knee infection from which he had suffered for some time. He had been taken to the hospital a week ago.

Surviving is one sister, Julia Merkel, of Story City. He had never married.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p. m. from the home and at 2 p. m. from the Grace Evangelical church. Burial will be in the Center cemetery scuthwest of here.
