Marjorie Leon (Elliott) Stowe, 94, of Nevada died on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at Rolling Green Village in Nevada. Graveside memorial services were held on Saturday, October 25 at the Nevada Municipal Cemetery with Pastor Steve Williams officiating.
Marjorie was born on August 9, 1914 in Elkhart to Samuel A. and Mila (Wire) Elliott. She graduated from Elkhart High School in 1932. On March 4, 1938, Marjorie married Charles (Buster) Stowe in Nevada. She had been employed at Des Moines General Hospital, Graphic Forms, and retired in 1980 from General Bank. Marjorie was a 50-year member of the First United Methodist Church in Nevada and a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Marjorie is survived by a son, Duane E. (Alice) Stowe of Dakota City, NE; 10 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on April 3, 1987, a daughter Charlene Olson on May 7, 1998, a son Larry on November 24, 2004, a grandson Duane (D.J.) Olson on February 28, 1999, her son-in-law James Olson, a brother James Elliott, and 3 sisters Leola Albaugh, Emeline Elliott and Sarah Elliott on October 17, 2004.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Marjorie's name at the First United Methodist Church in Nevada.
Chet Ryan Mortuary and Cremation Services was entrusted with Marjorie and her family.
