THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, October 21, 2008.

Nina A. Simpson, 96, of Nevada, died Friday, Oct. 17, 2008, at her home in the Story County Long Term Care Facility in Nevada. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, at The Rose of Ames Theater Room, 1315 Coconino Road, in Ames. Private burial will be at Linwood Cemetery in Boone.

Nina was born in Boone and lived in several communities before moving to Ames in 1993. She worked for Mary Greeley Medical Center and was a member of the First Christian Church in Ames.

Nina is survived by two sons, Kenneth E. Peterson, of Suffolk, England, and Michael Washburn, of Montrose, Colo.; two sisters, Sylvia Marie Stemm, of Ames, and Betty Johnson, of Boone; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack B. Simpson, in 1992; two infant sons; five brothers; and one sister.

Dunn's Funeral Home of Des Moines is assisting with arrangements.
