Steven J. Romsey, 60, of Gilbert, died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City, with Rev. Stephen Anenson officiating. Burial will be at the Gilbert Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City.

Steven J. Romsey was born Feb. 6, 1948, in Ames, to Joseph "Joe" and Frankie Romsey. He married Sharon Heggen July 25, 1975.

He was a farmer and NuTech Seed dealer.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon, of Gilbert; mother, Frankie Romsey, of Story City; sons, Eric (Amy) Romsey, of Downers Grove, Ill., and Beau Romsey, of rural Gilbert; sisters, Susan (Gary) Uthe, of rural Story City, and Kris Crawford, of Story City; and grandchildren, Joey and Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his father.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in his name.

Adams Funeral Home and Cremation Services is assisting with arrangements.
