ISAAC KELLEY, AMES PIONEER, DIES SAT.
Issac Kelley, 71, died at his home at 202 Valnut avenue here Saturday at 6 p. m. following a long illness from paralysis and old age.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Adams chapel with burial in the Ames cemetery. The Rev. C. C. Dillavou, pastor of the United Brethren church, was in charge of the services.
Mr. Kelley was a real pioneer of Story county. He was born here 71 years ago and spent his entire life here. Mr. Kelley was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Kelley, early settlers of this community who lived south of Ames for many years. Both died a number of years ago.
Surviving children include, Mrs. Gertrude Ball of Woodward, Mrs. Etta Slippery, of Ames, Mrs. Lida Sevore of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Edith Johnson of Ames, Mrs.Ethel Stevens of Ames. Three brothers, a sister and 25 grandchildren also survive. The brothers and the sister are, Charles of Lake Crystal, Minn.; Albert of Ames, Fred of Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Anna Wegxt of Gilbert.
