SHELDAHL MAN DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS
SHELDAHL - Tom Estrem, 74, died at his home In Sbeldabl about 6 o'clock Wednesday evening following a two months' illness. Fourteen years ago Mr. Estrem was hurt in a train accident and had been ill since. He had been confined to his bed for the past two months.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Lincoln church with the Rev. Olaf Holen of Roland in charge. Mr. Estrem was a member of the Lutheran church all his life.
Mr. Estrem was in Etne, Norway on July 15, 1855 and in 1877 he was married to Louise Anstad in Norway. The couple came to this country and settled in the Sheldahl community in 1882.
Besides his wife the following children survive: Nels, Ingwal, Andrew, Howard, Bert, Arthur, Mrs. Ole Houge, all of Slater. Mrs. Fredric Anderson of Cambridge; Mrs. Hilda Van Scoy of Ames; and Mrs. Mabel Trumball of Sheldahl.

The Rer. Olaf Halen of Roland, the Rev. P. Buland of Huxley and the Rev. Mr. Rorem of Slater conducted the funeral services for Tom Estrem of Sheldahl Sunday afternoon at the Slater Lincoln church. Fern and Beatrice Van Scoy of Ames sang "Under His Wings" and Mrs. E. .J. Anderson and Anna Sheldahl sang "Tired." Merenda Sheldahl played a cornet solo, "Nearer My God to Thee," a quartet composed of Andrew Maland, Miss Ruth Halverson, Mrs. M. Heggen and Randolph Peterson sang "Looking This Way," "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Home of the Soul." Anna Shledahl sang "Den Store Hvids Flock." and Mr. Christofierson sang "Engang Vi Skal Forstaa." Those from a distance who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Largent and children of Ft. Dodge. Mrs. George Van Scoy and children, Carrol Van Scoy, Mrs. F. Sprague, Mr. and Mrs E. Erickson, and Mr. and Mrs. Martin Tesdahl of Ames, Mr. and Mrs. T. Tesdahl, Mr. and Mrs Oscar Tesdahl and son of Boone; Mrs. J. Thrush, Willie Sachariason, E. Engleby of Elmore, Mrs K. O. Highland and Eddie, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Highland and family, Mr and Mrs. Clarence Highland and family, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Salvig.
