Peanut Causes Death of Slater Child

SLATER, Feb. 3 - A peanut lodged in the throat of Donald T. Severtson, 16 months-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Luther Servertson of Slater on Wednesday resulted in his death Thursday. The child was taken to the Lutheran hospital at Des Moines but before the peanut could be removed, pneumonia set in. He was an only child.

Funeral services were held at the Bethlehem church at Slater Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with burial in the Slater cemetery.

Mrs. Severtson is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oley Storing of Slater. Mr. Storing is a member of the board of supervisors of Story county and one of the most prominent men in this community.
