R. E. STEWARD, COLLEGE INSTRUCTOR, DIES WED.
Rosental E. Stewart, 55-year old instructor in rural sociology at Iowa State college, was found dead in his bed this morning at the F. C. Hinze home, 307 Russell avenue, where he has lived for several years. His death was attributed to apoplexy caused by high blood pressure, and it is believed that he died shortly after retiring last night.
Steward was apparently in good health Wednesday, and in the afternoon talked on "Human Elements in the Farm Community" before a Farm and Home week meeting at the college.
Mrs. Stewart, who is now in Lathrop, Mo., and their one son, R. M. Stewart of Chicago were notified of the death this morning. Funeral services await their arrival.
After 25 years as public schools [unreadable fragment] -souri, Stewart came to Iowa State five years ago, and for three years did research work in Iowa population changes and composition. Two years ago he joined the teaching staff, and this year was conducting introductory courses in community leadership and organization, and population studies.
Stewart received his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Missouri.
