Eric "Rick" Server, 50, of Ames, died Sunday, Aug. 17, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, at Ames Municipal Cemetery.

Eric Server was born March 9, 1958, in Ames, to Harold and Joyce Server. He graduated from Ames High School in 1976. He played baseball in high school and was a sports enthusiast. He was a very loyal Chicago Cubs fan and an avid fisherman.

He is survived by his mother, Joyce Server, of Ames; three brothers, Jeffrey (Dawn) Server, of Niwot, Colo., and their daughters, Molly and Katie, John (Karen) Server, of Ames, and their children, Bryan, Aaron and Callie, and Bradley (Roxie) Server, of Fayetteville, N.C., and their children, Robert, Tim and Amy.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold, on Aug. 11, 2005.
