was born March 9, 1936, to Tolferd E. and Alma (Adams) Sesker near Cambridge, Iowa. He died of complications from Diabetes and Heart Disease on August 7, 2008, at his home near Dexter, Iowa.Memorial Services were held Monday, August 11, 2008 at the Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell. A luncheon followed at the Maxwell Area Community Center. Inurnment was Monday at the Cambridge Cemetery.
Rich grew up in the Maxwell/Cambridge area, graduating from Maxwell High School in 1955.
Following graduation, he farmed. While farming, he also worked at Eagle Iowa Works and for Joe Hartley Trucking.
On October 25, 1958, he married Marilyn Thompson. Five children were born to this union: Steven, Susan, John, Shari and Gene. In 1981, he moved his family to Nebraska where he worked for Hendrickson Land and Cattle Company at Kearney. In 1983, bringing his family and following his daughter, he moved to Earlham, Iowa where he worked for Hunter Management. He retired in 1994 and moved to rural Dexter in 2007.
Surviving are his wife Marilyn; son Steve (Shellee) Sesker, daughter Shari (Kevin) Smith; son Gene (Steph) Sesker; seven grandchildren: Randi Sesker, Andrew Sesker, Justine (Joe) Miller, Chelsea Smith, Riley Smith, Derrin Sesker and Justin Sesker; three sisters: Norma Goff of Maryville, Tennessee, Diane Andeway of Oskaloosa, Iowa and Kay Coughenour of Maxwell, Iowa.
Preceding him in death were his parents, a daughter, Susan and a son, John.
Memorials may be made to the Richard Sesker memorial Fund.
Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory was in charge of services.
