Memorial services for Sandi J. Tyler of Baxter, who entered into Glory on 7-24 at Monarch Hospice in Newton, were held Monday, 7-28-08, in the Baxter Community School gym.

Sandi was born 11-21-51 to Harold and Geraldine Townsend. She married Gregory Tyler on 11-28-87 and before her death, was the business manager for the Baxter Community Schools. She was a member of Bethany United Church of Christ, Baxter Economic Community Development Corp. for 15 years and numerous other service organizations, recently receiving the Citizen of the Year award.

She is survived by daughter Traci (Jeff) Shepley; son Ryan (Hilary) Bucklin of Baxter; two stepdaughters, Jane Reutter and Kate Tyler; one stepson, Jude (Marla) Tyler; six grandchildren; mother Gerry Stubbs of Kearney, NE.; and a brother-in-law, B.J. Christain. She was preceded in death by her husband, Greg Tyler, in November 07, her father and two sisters, Shirley Christain and Mary Sue Townsend.
