MRS. YELTON DIED LAST WEEK

Mrs. Susan J. Yelton, 91, died Aug. 6 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Grant Barker, in Ames. She had been in declining health for some time.
Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon from Adams chapel in Ames, and burial was in the Pleasant Grove cemetery.
Mrs. Yelton was born in Flemingsburg, Ky., Oct. 11, 1839. Sixty-three years ago she and her family moved to a farm near Soper's Mill, southeast of Story City. When her husband, James Yelton, died in 1892, Mrs. Yelton moved to Ames to make her home. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Barker, and one son, William Yelton, at the county home.
The Yelton family lived in Story City in the late 80's, conducting a restaurant in the building now occupied by the Jones & Wier barber shop.
