Feb. 28, 1908-July 26, 2008

Esther Wright, 100, of Ames, died Saturday, July 26, at Bethany Manor in Story City. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, at Calvary United Methodist Church in Ames. Burial will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 tonight at Adams Funeral Home.

Esther Wright was born Feb. 28, 1908, in Radcliffe, to Emanuel and Elizabeth (Anderson) Hoversten. She married Earl Wright and was a secretary at the Iowa Department of Transportation. She enjoyed crafts, going out for coffee and traveling. She was a real jokester (always Wright!) and was a good Norwegian.

She is survived by one sister, Avis Clark, of Story City; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; one infant daughter; and eight siblings.

Memorials may be directed to Calvary United Methodist Church.
