Lavon N. Armstrong, 75, of Ames, died Thursday, Sept. 25, at the Israel Family Hospice House of cancer.

She was born Jan. 14, 1928, in Ames to Leonard and Martha C. (Skeie) Nelson. She married Phil Armstrong on Sept. 15, 1948, and he preceded her in death in 1993. She married Wallace Fuller on Oct. 4, 1996, and he also preceded her in death. She lived as a homemaker. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Story City and a volunteer at Mary Greeley Medical Center. She lived in Ames from birth to 1968 and from 1995 until her death. She had lived in Dubuque from 1968 to 1995.

Survivors include a daughter, Martha "Marty" (and Duane) Swanson of Ames; three sons, Bill of Dubuque, John (and Michelle) of East Dubuque, Ill., and Mike (and Sharon) of Southlake, Texas; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Her husbands preceded her in death.

Memorial services were held Monday, Sept. 29, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Story City with the Rev. Jim Norem officiating. Burial was in the Ames Municipal Cemetery. Adams Funeral Home, Ames, handled arrangements.
