Norma Jean Robinson, 75, of Ames, died peacefully in her sleep Sunday, July 6, at Rolling Green Village in Nevada. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 10, at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames. Burial will follow in Ames Municipal Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, at Stevens Memorial Chapel.
Norma Jean Robinson was born March 21, 1933, in Ames, to William and Grace (Litchfield) Hutchens. She graduated from Ames High School in 1950. She married Wayne Robinson on May 28, 1950.
She loved her family, gardening and being outdoors. She enjoyed children and was employed for several years with the Ames schools.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Ames Garden Club, Ames Women's Club and the Rockhound Club.
She is survived by one daughter, Linda (Jay) Adams, of Cambridge; three sons, Ken (Roze) Robinson, of Ellsworth, Mike (Toni) Robinson, of Huxley, and Chuck Robinson, of Kansas City, Mo.; nine grandchildren, Josh, Nathan, Jenny, Jennifer, Matt, Sara, Jay, Sam and Clint; and two great-grandsons, Carter and Cade.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne, in 1979; two sisters, Ferne Mathiason and Wanita Nash; and two brothers, James and Leroy.
