James William "Bill" Sowers, 76 of Mission Tex., formerly of Nevada, died Jan. 10, 1983.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 11 at the Central Presbyterian Church in Nevada. Rev. Gehrald Riesen and John Coolidge will officiate. Private services with inurnment will take place at the Nevada Cemetery.
Sowers was born to Max Lindsey and Sadie Sowers on April 16, 1906 in Nevada. He had lived in Ames until about five years ago. He was an apartment builder and manager. He was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mission, Tex., the Sigma Nu Fraternity and was an honorary member of the Iowa Homebuilders Association.
He is survived by his wife, Helen, one son, Max W. Sowers of Cedar Falls and two grandchildren.
Adams Funeral Home of Ames is in charge of arrangements.
