J. William Sowers, Mission, Texas, died Monday, Jan. 10, today, in a McAllen, Texas, nursing home. Memorial service arrangements will be announced later.
Sowers was a builder in the Ames area and an apartment manager in Ames for many years. Five years ago he moved to Texas.
He was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity at the University of Iowa, the First Presbyterian Church of Mission, Texas, and was an honorary member of the Home Builders Association of Ames. He had belonged to the Elks Lodge and the Ames Country Club.
Survivors include his wife, Helen, who after Jan. 20 will make her home at Friendship Village, 600 Park Lane, Waterloo, Iowa 50702; a son, Max Sowers, Cedar Falls, two granddaughters; and two great-grandsons.
