Jessie Winifred Montgomery, 98, of Nevada,Iowa, died Wednesday, June 25 at the Long Term Care Center in Story County Hospital.
She was born January 15, 1882, in Milford Township, Story County, Iowa to James W. and Alice Jennette Ballard Sowers.
She spent her life in Mason City and Story County, Iowa. She was a teacher and homemaker.
On February 11, 1903 she married Frank Montgomery at her parents residence in Story County, Iowa.
She was affiliated with the United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one sister, Mildred Sowers of Los Angeles, California and seven nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in April of 1961, one son, one daughter, five brothers and five sisters.
Funeral service will be Saturday, June 28, 11:00a.m. from Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada with Reverend Harold Wagner officiating.
Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.
