Stephen Houck, 66, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2008 at Bethany Manor in Story City.

Funeral services were held 10:30 am. Monday, March 31, 2008 in the chapel at Bethany Life Communities, Story City. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service.

Stephen Karl Houck was born October 27, 1941 to Kermit and Beatrice (Kirk) Houck at Lansing, Michigan where he was also baptized in the Central Methodist Church, April 5, 1942. At the age of three, his family moved to Compton, California where they resided for sixteen years before relocating to Radcliffe, Iowa. The family enjoyed traveling in their motor home seeing much of the United States.

The family lived in the Radcliffe and Story City communities until Stephen's parents died. Stephen was then fortunate to be involved with the Community Life Program in Ames. Living under the supervision of the staff of wonderful people, Steve was able to enjoy many interests and experiences. He loved socializing and learning something new about everyone he met. Once you met Steve, you were in his memory as his friend forever.

Stephen was preceded in death by his parents.
Those left to mourn his passing include cousins and many friends.
