Normen K. Hetland, 78, of rural Story City, died Sunday, May 4, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 8, at Elim Lutheran Church in Randall. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Randall.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, at Elim Lutheran Church in Randall.

Normen was born Oct. 24, 1929, near Radcliffe, to Nils and Karina (Bjelland) Hetland. He married Ann Hansen Feb. 27, 1959.

He is survived by his wife, Ann, of rural Story City; one son, Bruce (Kim Childres) Hetland, of rural Story City; two grandchildren, Jamie Sue and Justin Allen; and three sisters, Carrie Brightwell, of Clinton, Bertha Dubberke, of Radcliffe, and Dorothy Tribby, of Ellsworth.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Peter and Tom.

Memorials maybe made to his church or Riverside Bible Camp Campership fund.

Soderstrum Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
