Roger G. Gould, 52, of Ames, died Saturday, April 26, at home. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 tonight at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care, 414 Lincoln Way, in Ames, with a celebration of life funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, at Calvary United Methodist Church in Ames.

Roger Galen Gould was born April 29, 1955, in Estherville, the son of Galen and Vivian (Smith) Gould. He graduated from Emmetsburg High School in 1973 and from Iowa State University in 1990 with a degree in civil engineering. He married Cindy Thiel Dec. 29, 1974, in Emmetsburg. He and his family lived in Ames since 1986. He was employed by the Iowa Department of Transportation. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed ISU athletics, especially wrestling and football. He also enjoyed being outdoors doing yard work, carpentry and cruising.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy, of Ames; sons and daughters-in-law, Shawn and Kristen Gould, of Eureka, Calif., and Brian and Julie Gould, of Council Bluffs; his mother, Vivian Gould, of Emmetsburg; one sister, Jan Gould, of Portland, Ore.; and one brother, Don Gould, of Woodburn, Ore.

He was preceded in death by his father, Galen Gould, and one nephew, Troy Gould.
