Arlene Elizabeth Mullin, 90, of Ottumwa, died Wednesday April 16, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics of a sudden illness. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, at First United Methodist Church, 516 Kellogg Ave., in Ames. Family will be having a luncheon following the memorial service at the church. Inurnment will be at Iowa Veteran Cemetery in Van Meter.
Arlene Elizabeth Mullin was born July 3, 1917, in Garner, the daughter of Clarence and Minnie Groesbeck. She married Armour Paul Mullin Jan. 9, 1935, in Northwood. Arlene was employed with Ames School District for 11 years and Mary Greeley Hospital for six years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Ames. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, fishing, cooking, dancing and traveling. Arlene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her children, Maxine (Marwin) Bogue, of Lake Shore, Minn., Roger (Charlene) Mullin, of Huxley, Don Mullin (friend, Gladys Hiatt), of Helena, Mont., and Dee Mullin (Steve Stillwell), of Ottumwa; a sister, Maxine Skoda, of Hampton; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Armour Paul Mullin; and brothers, Ronald, Mervin, Gene and Lowell Groesbeck.
