Betty Nervig, 83, of Sheldahl, died Tuesday, April 15, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Services are pending with Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames for a visitation Thursday, April 17, and funeral Friday, April 18, all at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Slater.

Betty L. Nervig, 83, of Sheldahl, died Tuesday; April 15, at Israel Family Hospice House. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 18, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Slater. Burial will be in the Sheldahl Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 17, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Slater.
Betty Nervig was born Sept. 3, 1924, in rural Polk County, to William Milton Drake and Elsie Mae (Stevens) Drake. She married Amos Nervig May 7, 1947.
She retired from Iowa State University where she was a data processor for many years.
She was a member of the Iowa Rose O'Neill Association, and the International Rose O'Neill Association. Her special interests were quilting, gardening, and spending time with family. She was also an avid Cubs fan and ISU fan.
She is survived by her children, Kathy (Robert) Houge, Steve (Sharon) Nervig, Susan (Bob) Kramme, Bill Nervig and JoEllyn (Dennis) Hokel; grandchildren, Steven (Julie) Houge, Andrew (Susan) Houge, Courtney (Andrew) Wehage, Mark (Anne) Nervig, Jennifer Kramme, Sara Nervig, Patrick Nervig, Megan Hokel, Luke Kramme and Chris Hokel; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Houge, Madison Houge, Garrett Houge, Molly Houge, Jacob Wehage and Eleanor Nervig; brothers, Robert (Darlene) Drake and Dean Drake; sisters, June Anderson, Donna Nall and Joyce (Jim) Tingley; and sisters-in-law, Fran Drake and Agnes Rullestad.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Darrell Drake and Bill Drake; sisters, Velma Moore and Viola Carlson; and one son-in-law, Ric Long.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Israel Family Hospice House.
Stevens Memorial Chapel Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
