Donald Edwin Erickson, 79, died Monday, April 7, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Mo. Funeral services were Thursday, April 10, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Springfield, Mo. Burial was in the Sycamore Cemetery, east of Miller, Mo.

Don was born June 18, 1928, in Slater, to Edwin and Olga (Sheldahl) Erickson. He was baptized and confirmed at the Bethesda Lutheran Church in Ames. He was an Army veteran serving in the Korean Conflict, a retired truck driver and was a charter member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Springfield, Mo.

He married Mary Ann Blood Sept. 18, 1976, in Marquette.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann; three daughters, Jeannie Moloian and Cindy Miller, both of Miller, Mo., and Marcie Gulick, of Mount Vernon, Mo.; three sons, Eric Erickson, Raymond Nunez and Dana Erickson, all of Miller, Mo.; two sisters, Harriett Sheldahl, of Huxley, and Lucy Hoffman, of Ames; 11 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

His parents; one son, Donald Edwin Erickson Jr.; and one sister, Madeliene Mullica, preceded him in death.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church for the worldwide hunger program or the American Cancer Society, in care of the funeral home.
