Jattie Wilkinson Baumgartner, 97, of Ames, died peacefully Tuesday, March 18, at home. A burial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 20, in Red Oak Church Cemetery in Walnut, Ill., with the Rev. Bob Meador officiating.

Jattie was born March 6, 1911, in Jackson, Mo., the daughter of Jesse and Florence (Davis) Wilkinson. She married Omer Baumgartner Feb. 14, 1947, in Kewanee, Ill. They founded Wilkinson Office Supply and Equipment Company with offices in Galesburg, Ill., Kewanee, Ill., and Burlington. In 1974, they sold the business. She was a professional woman before her time. She educated her daughters and all four grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Omer; two daughters, Donna Baumgartner Prizgintas and Mary Baumgartner Levner, both of Ames; four grandchildren, Diana Prizgintas, of Ames, Jack Levner, of New York City, Arion Thiboumery, of Ames, and Stefanie Levner, of Amsterdam; one great-grandson, Max Prizgintas, of Ames; and one sister, Elsie Beaudrean, of Cape Girardeau, Mo.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Red Oak United Methodist Church in Walnut, Ill.

Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family with arrangements.
