Gary L. Royer, 74, of Ames, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, at Mary Greeley Medical Center. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, March 3, at Memorial Lutheran Church in Ames, with burial following in Story Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 2, at Bacon Funeral Chapel in Nevada.
Memorials may be made to his church, American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
Memorial Services of Iowa is in charge of arrangements.

Gary L. Royer was born April 8, 1933, on Woods farm two miles north of Dallas Center, to Glenn and Nana (Weddle) Royer.
Gary and his wife, Barbara, were married in 1959, and moved to Ames in 1962. He worked as an accountant for 39 years before retiring in 2001 from Schoenauer and Company.
Gary served in the Air Force during the Korean conflict. His pastimes included Jeeping in the Rocky Mountains, traveling and working in his shop. He was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church and American Legion Post 37.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara, of Ames; his son, Matthew (Jeanie) Royer, of Nevada; his daughters, Renee (Chris) Novak, of Nevada, and Natalie (Steve) Howell, of Kearney, Mo.; seven grandchildren; a brother, Joe Royer, of Perry; and a sister, Sandra Weyers, also of Perry.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Lutheran Church in Ames, the American Heart Association, or the American Diabetes Association.
Arrangements are being handled by Memorial Services of Iowa, 233-5435.
