Helen I. Michaud, 93, of Ames, died Sunday, Feb. 10, at Mary Greeley Medical Center. A Mass of Resurrection will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Ames, with Father Ivan Nienhaus presiding. Burial will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., with a vigil service at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 13, at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames.
Helen I. Michaud was born Nov. 10, 1914, in Clifton, Kan., to Adlore and Rosanna (Balthazor) Collette. She married Raymond Michaud April 24, 1933. She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church since 1941 and a past member of the Altar and Rosary Society.
She enjoyed fishing, gardening and her teddy bear collection.
She is survived by one daughter, Deborah (William) Young, of Ames; four sons, James (Marlene) Michaud, of Ames, Mark (Jane) Michaud, of Ames, John Michaud, of Loveland, Colo., and Bob (Jan) Michaud, of Albuquerque, N.M.; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Clifford and Bill Collette; one sister, Alice Michaud; one son-in-law, Rich Canon; and one daughter-in-law, Jean Michaud.
