Esther H. Olson, 87, of Story City died Aug. 28, 2004 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 2 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Petri Lutheran Church in Story City with the Rev. Thomas Reuss officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Randall.

Esther was born March 21, 1917 near Randall to Orville and Julia (Rugnahou) Henderson. She married Orien B. Olson on Feb. 10, 1940. He died June 29, 1980. She was a nurse working at Bethany Manor, Mary Greeley Medical Center and the Story City Hospital. She was a lifelong resident of the Story City area and was a member of St. Petri Lutheran Church where she was active in WELCA. She also volunteered at the Story City Senior Citizens Center.

Survivors include three sons, Ronald (Linda) Olson of Carlton, Oregon, Wesley Olson and Dan (Elaine) Olson, all of Story City; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Jeanette Andre; a half-sister, Lois Mills and a half-brother, Melbum Henderson.
Memorials may be made to St. Petri Lutheran Church, Elim Lutheran Church in Randall or Riverside Bible Camp Preschool.
