Irene Huntley, 85, of Ames, died Monday, Dec. 10, at Rolling Green Village in Nevada. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall streets in Boone, with the Rev. Danny Hines officiating. Burial will be in Boone Memorial Gardens.

Ella Irene Huntley was born Nov. 7, 1922, in Pilot Mound, the daughter of John and Lillian (Tilley) Anderson. She lived in Boone and Ames most of her life and was a resident of Rolling Green Village the past six weeks. She married Clarence Sundgren Jan. 22, 1939. The couple later divorced. She married Carl Dixson Oct. 17, 1944. He died in 1973. She married Richard Huntley Nov. 11, 1974. Richard died in 1974.

She worked for Bourns in Ames as an assembler for more than 30 years, retiring in 1987. She was a member of Ames Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed cooking, especially for the holidays, and family gatherings, baking wedding cakes, vegetable gardening, canning, crocheting, sewing, listening to gospel hymns, taking care of her dog, Peaches, and her cat, Callie, and spending time with her special friends, Bruce Kellogg and Lauretta Thompson, both of Ames.

She is survived by one son, Charlie (Anita) Dixson, of Waukee; four daughters, Jerolyn (Ted) Webb, of Norwalk, Carleene Ratliff, of Huxley, Carla Dixson, of Ames, and Zoe Ann Russell, of Prescott, Ariz.; two stepsons, Larry (Karen) Huntley, of Grimes, and Richard (Cindy) Huntley, of California; two stepdaughters, Michelle (Joe) Bennett, of Linden, and Ruth (Lee) Roscoe, of Texas; two brothers, Gary Anderson and Duane Anderson, both of Boone; five sisters, Lillian Lind and Helen Bielfelt, both of Boone, Doris Banford, of Ogden, Valetta Coates, of Malvern, and Evelyn Gilliam, of Pilot Mound; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 10 step grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three husbands; five brothers; and three sisters.

Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, at the funeral chapel, where the family will be present from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Memorials may be given to Homeward Hospice of Ames or the Alzheimer's Association, Mid-Iowa Chapter.
