Word was received Monday morning advising of the death on Sunday morning at 6:20, of Mr. J. Oliver Shearer, 40, of Waterloo, wife of Oliver Shearer, former residents of Nevada.
Mrs. Shearer died in a hospital there after a short illness. She was born in Collins on Jan. 24, 1896, daughter of the late Mr. and [Mrs.] Chas. Carver, and grew to womanhood in the Collins neighborhood.
She was married to J. Oliver Shearer at the home of her parents on June 12, 1916, and to their union five children were born. Two daughters, Mary Jean and Peggy, died in infancy and two sons, Oliver, Jr., 18, and Keith Elwood, 15, and one daughter, Margie Lou, 6, together with her husband survive her. She also leaves three sisters, Mrs. Jesse Torry and Bessie Carver of Collins, and Mrs. Leonard Clement of Waterloo, and two brothers, William and Harry Carver, of Collins.
