Betty Ann Klucas, 78, of Ames, died Sunday, Sept. 16, at home. Services will be at 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at Adams Funeral Home. Burial will be in Nevada Cemetery.
Betty Ann Klucas was born April 19, 1929, in Nevada, to Charlie and Annie (Healey) Burkhart. She graduated from Hueytown, Ala., High School and attended college for two years. She married Chester Klucas Nov. 25, 1965, in Nevada. She owned an upholstery business and also worked at Donnelly's and taught adult education classes.
She was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada, the Moose Lodge, OES Amaranth and White Shrine and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by one son, Paul (Shelley Carter) Klucas; one daughter, Mary Jo Schmidt; one stepson, Dr. Joseph Klucas; two stepdaughters, Sharon Crowley and Sally Miller; one brother, Carl (Sharon) Burkhart; two grandchildren, Crystal Kariker and Justin Howard; and a host of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester, in 1987.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at Adams Funeral Home.
Memorials may be given to ACCESS women's shelter.
