Eldon Yashack, 79, of Ames, died today at Riverside Manor in Ames. Services are pending with Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames.

Eldon Yashack, 79, of Ames, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, at Riverside Manor. A private family service will be held.

Eldon Yashack was born May 26, 1928, in Diagonal, to Clarence and Beulah (Curry) Yashack. He married Barbara Johnson May 4, 1957.

He had been employed by Iowa State University for 21 years. He enjoyed his family and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Yashack, of Ames; four sons, Terry, Mark, Karl and Gary; one daughter-in-law, Rose, wife of Terry; two grandchildren, Kristen and Michael Yashack; and two great-grandchildren, Kaden Jones and Isabella Yashack.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Velva Gilham.

Stevens Memorial Chapel is assisting Eldon's family with arrangements.
