TRI COUNTY TIMES, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, August 23, 2007.

Joseph "Joe" Elder, 86, of Story City, formerly of Cambridge, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2007 at Colonial Manor in Zearing, Iowa. Funeral services were Saturday, August 18th at 10:30 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church in Story City. Visitation was one hour prior to the service. Burial was in the Cambridge Cemetery.

Joe Elder was born April 27, 1921 to Joseph Lee and Lillian (Dueland) Elder in Cambridge, Iowa.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Imogene; a daughter, Jolene Appelgate; a granddaughter, Katie Elder; a brother, Don Elder and a sister Doris Applegate.

Joe is survived by his daughter Linda (David) McVicker of Story City; his son Ron (Shirley) Elder of Emorado, North Dakota; his sister Evelyn Link of Des Moines; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
