TRI COUNTY TIMES, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, August 23, 2007.

Funeral services for Ted Alitz, 35 of Melrose will be Monday, August 20, 2007 at 11 AM at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. Family will receive friends Sunday from 3-5 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Confidence Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers a Trust Fund will be established for his son Ty.

Ted was born June 30, 1972 in Des Moines to Teri and Tim Alitz. Ted and his girlfriend Danielle Kent passed away August 16, 2007 in an accident.

Ted graduated from Ballard High School in 1990. After High School he did his ironworkers apprenticeship, and was currently a superintendent for Northwest Steel Erection in Des Moines, a job he enjoyed very much. He belonged to the Ironworkers Local 67 just as 9 other family members.

Ted had the most adorable and perfect son, Ty. He was the most important part of life. Ted was also very proud of his family and loved to spend time with them. Ted was very well liked, hard worker, determined, had a great sense of humor, enjoyed a full life with family and friends, loved to travel, hunt, and fish.

Preceding him in death are his grandfathers: Brigadier General Glenn W. Atkinson and William C. Alitz; and his cousin Stephanie.

He is survived by his son Ty; his parents, Teri & Tim Alitz; a sister & brother-in-law, Chris & Brian Jensen; nephews Nick & Logan Lande and Christopher & Brandon Jensen; his grandmothers, Mary Alitz and Sharron Atkinson; many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Beloved Friends.
