THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Sunday, August 5, 2007.
Bette A. McCullough, 81, died Thursday, Aug. 2, at St. Mary's Hospice in Athens, Ga., after an illness. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, at the Bernstein Funeral Home in Athens. After a brief service, family and friends may gather there to celebrate her wonderful life.
Bette and her husband, Lou McCullough, lived in Ames when Lou was a football coach and later, athletic director at Iowa State University.
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth McCullough, of Manhattan, Kan.; son and daughter-in-law, Jefferson and Cathy McCullough, and their children Lauren, J.D. and Michael, of Iowa City; son, Daniel McCullough, and his children, Hudson and Matthew, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; son, Patrick McCullough, and his daughter Christina, of Watkinsville, Ga.; and brother, Charles Stribling, of Avondale Estates, Ga.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2000; and a brother, Dr. W.D. Stribling Jr., in 1998.
