Nadine Braland, 80, of Roland died Nov. 29, 2006 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Funeral mass was held Saturday, Dec. 2 at 10:00 am. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Nevada. Burial followed in the Roland Cemetery.

Nadine was born July 6, 1926 in Clutier, Iowa to Joe and Francis (Yuska) Cizek. She married Mervin Braland on Oct. 13, 1962. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Nevada. Nadine had lived in Roland for the past 45 years and was devoted to her family.

She is survived by her son, Marty of Roland.
Nadine was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Francis Cizek, her stepfather, Charles Simanek; her husband, Mervin Braland; a son, Mark; and a sister, Pauline Suchy.

The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 1 at Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City with a vigil service at 7 p.m.
