NEVADA JOURNAL, Nevada, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, July 26, 2007.

Marjorie Arlene Hambly, 87 of Nevada died on Sunday, July 22 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 25 at the Memorial Lutheran Church with Pastor David Burling officiating. A luncheon will be served immediately following the service and burial followed in the Lincoln Township Cemetery in Zearing.

Marjorie was born on July 25, 1919 in Concord Township, rural Hardin County to Ross and Ruth (Smith) Bushman. She graduated in 1937 from Lincoln Township Consolidated High School in Clemons, Iowa. On February 15, 1940, Marjorie married G. Carlton "Jiggs" Hambly at the Little Brown Church is Nashua. She was a farm wife. Marjorie was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church, Wednesday morning bowlerina league, and Richland Garden Club. She loved being with her family.

Marjorie is survived by a son, Steven C. (Connie) Hambly of Nevada; 6 grandchildren, Jason (Kim) Hambly of Shellsburg, IA, Shannon (Tawnya) Hambly of Long Grove, Brett (Emily) Hambly of Nevada, Amy (Chris) Mathis of Elkhart, Angela (Blaine) Oakie of Ankeny, and Shelly (John) Whaley of Ames; 11 great grandchildren; and 6 great great grandchildren.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jiggs on June 29, 2001, a son James R. Hambly on September 23, 2005, and a brother Richard Bushman in 2000.

A memorial fund has been established in Marjorie's name for the Kidney Association or the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.
