Goldie B. Beach, 91, of Ames, died Sunday, July 22, at Abington on Grand.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 26, at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames, with Pastor Lynn Elrod officiating. Burial will follow in Ames Municipal Cemetery.

Goldie was born Nov. 29, 1915, in Dawson, to Fred and Myrtle (McCormick) Curry. She was a graduate of Pilot Mound High School. She married Orville Beach Sept. 23, 1936, in Bethany, Mo.

She had been employed in the laundry department of Mary Greeley Medical Center for more than 15 years. She was a professional cake baker and decorator.

She is survived by two sons, Larry (Lynn) Beach, of Ames, and Doug (Jane) Beach, of Weatherby Lake, Mo.; one daughter, Jo Moore, of Boone; eight grandchildren, Stacey Poling, Curt Moore, Kelly Craun and Mike Moore, all of Boone, Kim Beach, of Ames, Kristin Huss, of Denver, Colo., and Justin Beach and Sarah Beach, both of Kansas City; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mildred Lewis, of Boone, and Gladys Cushman, of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Donald Curry; and sister, Dorothy Pritchard.

A visitation will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service Thursday, July 26, at Stevens Memorial Chapel.
