THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Wednesday, July 18, 2007.

Jim Moore, 56, passed away peacefully Monday, July 16, at his home in South Des Moines. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 19, with funeral services at 10 a.m. Friday, July 20, both at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home in Des Moines.

Jim Moore had owned Jet Print since 1985. Jet Print has been a longtime fixture of Main Street. He enjoyed working with the public and was active on the board at Worldly Goods, was a board member for Ames Parks and Recreation 3-on-3 basketball for five years, a member of the Ames Art Commission, a member of Ames Chamber of Commerce and a member of Main Street Cultural District. He sponsored and participated in the Ames Merchants Bowling League for many years and supported many ISU activities and community events. Pets were always welcome at Jet Print with treats available for all visitors.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl, one son, Evan (Angela), and daughter, April, all of Des Moines; his mother, Virginia Moore, of Wesley Acres in Des Moines; one sister, Carolyn (John) Griglione, of Alexandria, Va.; one brother, Wayne (Debbie) Moore, of McKinney, Texas; many nieces and nephews, and his dogs, Decker and Roy, who were adopted from the Ames Animal Shelter.

He was preceded in death by his father, James A. Moore; and grandparents, Art and Hannah Moore, longtime Ames residents.

He will be missed by all who knew him.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Ames Animal Shelter or the Main Street Cultural District.
