William Dean Miller, 67, formerly of Nevada died on Thursday, July 5 surrounded by his loving family at his daughter's Nevada home. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 21 from 10:00 A.M.-Noon at the Nevada High School Auditorium.

Bill was born on January 20, 1940 in Bussey, Iowa to William A. and Marjorie Lee (Brady) Miller. He was a graduate of Drake University and worked on his post graduate degree at Grandview College in Des Moines. Bill served as a radio mechanic in the U.S. Navy. On November 28, 1964, he married Mary Christina Santi in Madrid, Iowa. From 1970 until his retirement in 1999, he was a high school teacher at the Nevada High School. Upon his retirement, Bill and Chris moved to Missouri and recently returned to live in Nevada. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Nevada, Moose Lodge, American Legion, and Masonic Lodge. Bill loved spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed trains, watching movies, fishing, and scouting for deer on country roads at night.

Bill is survived by his wife Chris Miller of Nevada; 2 daughters, Laura Ameiss of St. Louis, MO and Lisa (Doug) Pratt of Nevada; 3 grandchildren, Olivia Ameiss, Malia and Adam Pratt; 3 sisters, Ruth Greening of New Sharon, Zella Larison of Newton, and Theda Russell of Milwaukee, WI.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Bill's name at the First Federal Savings Bank, 404 Lincolnway, Nevada, IA 50201.

Chet Ryan Mortuary and Cremation Service in Nevada has been entrusted with Bill's arrangements.
