THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Sunday, July 8, 2007.

Alan Vest, 96, of Ames, and formerly of Sac City, died Friday, July 6, at Green Hills Retirement Community in Ames. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 9, at United Methodist Church in Sac City. A flag presentation will follow at Oakland Cemetery.

He was a longtime attorney in Sac City.

He is survived by his wife, Pearl; one daughter, Carolyn (Chuck) Jons, of Ames; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Kirby; and one brother, Eugene.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. tonight at Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City.

Memorials may be directed to Loring Hospital in Sac City or any charity of the donor's choice.
