Frank L. Lock - Born April 4, 1928 to Lynn and June Lock in Detroit, Michigan. Shortly after this momentous occasion the family moved to Nevada, Iowa.

Frank attended school in Nevada until the age of nine. At this age he suffered the tremendous loss of his father. He and his mother moved to Roland, Iowa and lived with his grand parents until high school graduation.

He then joined the Navy and was shipped to Guam M. I. for the remainder of his enlistment.

Returning to Iowa he attended Simpson until graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree. Frank then attended the University of Iowa to graduate with the first Masters degree in Geology from the institution.

During his tenure in higher educatino he met and married Norma Irelan. The result of the union was the pride of his life his children, Jennifer Lock-Oman and Thomas Christian Lock.

His first job with Standard Oil was in Maracaibo, Venezuela South America. After six years of employment he returned to Iowa. He and his family lived in Des Moines, Iowa for a number of years. He remodeled houses and eventually built numerous houses in Des Moines and surrounding areas.

Upon the demise of his marriage he liquidated his inventory and decided to go back to his love of geology, eventually establishing himself in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

He remained an independent geologist until his final trip into the light.

He met his wife Charlie in 1978 and they married May 26, 1980. With this union he inherited three children, Brigitte, Belinda and Kelly. He was the best thing that ever came into their lives.

During his illness he volunteered in two different experimental drug programs attempting to help find a cure for hepatitis C and cancer. He voluntarily donated blood for future studies in these areas. It will be grown and used in research for ten years at the Mayo Clinic and then shared with other teaching facilities.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents Lynn and June Lock and his step son Kelly.

Everyone in the family knows Frank's commitment to educatino. His expectation for excellence and his compassion for shortfalls.

He leaves a void in all our lives. His life lessons were honest and true and blessed with humility.

Rest well my love; don't return until we may come back together.
