Odellia (Newgaard) Lantz, 85, of Huxley, died Friday, June 15, at her home. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 21, at Fjeldberg Lutheran Church in Huxley. Burial will be in Cambridge Municipal Cemetery.

Odellia Newgaard Lantz was born July 8, 1921, in Story County, Washington Township, to August and Pauline (Ostrem) Newgaard. She married Alvin Lantz Sept. 14, 1940.

She is survived by three sons, Monte (Gloria) of Huxley, Gary of Ames, and Nero (Linda) of St. Regis, Mont.; one daughter-in-law, Sandy Lantz of Renton, Wash.; one sister, Evelyn Weichers of Greenbank, Wash.; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin; one son, Alan; two brothers; and three sisters.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, at Soderstrum-Riis Funeral Home in Slater.

Memorials may be given to VFW Auxiliary Post 9662 of Ankeny and American Legion Auxiliary Post 233 of Cambridge, of which she was a member.
