TRI COUNTY TIMES, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, June 7, 2007.

Jean (Smith) Kinyon, daughter of the late Seth and Allie (Manship) Smith, was born Jan. 29, 1933 in Mingo, Iowa, and departed this life on March 8, 2007, at St. John's Regional Health Center in Springfield, Mo., at the age of 74 years.

Mrs. Kinyon moved to rural Nevada, Iowa, in 1942 and went to Shipley School, graduating in 1951. She was united in marriage on June 3, 1951, to Ralph Kinyon. To this union two sons and two daughters were born. Mrs. Kinyon enjoyed reading and working on puzzles.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph Kinyon of Warsaw. Mo.; two sons, Dennis Kinyon of Edward, Mo., and Mitchell Kinyon of Bolivar, Mo.; two daughters, Cherie Kinyon of Houston, Mo., and Debbie Courter of Fair Play, Mo.; two brothers, Seth Smith and wife Elaine of Rosewell, N.M. and Duane Smith of Ames, Iowa; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services were at 11 a.m. March 10, 2007, in the Fox Chapel with Dr. James Miller officiating. Pallbearers were James Dixon, Christopher Courter, Michelle Courter, Steven Courter, Crystal Courter and James Looney. Interment was in Boone Creek Cemetery under the direction of Fox Funeral Home.
